Witnessing to a Mormon, Part 3

aka Witnessing to a Mormon from the Book of Mormon

III. WORKS DO NOT SAVE; IT IS A GIFT

"And thou hast beheld in thy youth his glory; wherefore, thou art blessed even as they unto whom he shall minister in the flesh; for the Spirit is the same, yesterday, today, and forever. And the way is prepared from the fall of man, and salvation is free." 2 Nephi 2:4

"He doeth not anything save it be for the benefit of the world; for he loveth the world, even that he layeth down his own life that he may draw all men unto him. Wherefore, he commandeth none that they shall not partake of his salvation. Behold, doth he cry unto any, saying: Depart from me? Behold, I say unto you, Nay; but he saith: Come unto me all ye ends of the earth, buy milk and honey, without money and without price.
Hath he commanded any that they should not partake of his salvation? Behold I say unto you, Nay; but he hath given it free for all men; and he hath commanded his people that they should persuade all men to repentance." 2 Nephi 26:24-25, 27

"But because of the faith of men he has shown himself unto the world, and glorified the name of the Father, and prepared a way that thereby others might be partakers of the heavenly gift, that they might hope for those things which they have not seen.
And again, I remember that thou hast said that thou hast loved the world, even unto the laying down of they life for the world, that thou mightest take it again to prepare a place for the children of men." Ether 12:8, 33 (An excellent place to go from here is John 6:28-29, which leads to the next section.)
