About Sex

Lyrics to the song from the band Jacob's Trouble

In the backseat of his love-machine, [rapidly mumbled] of everything.
I will be a king, you can be my queen, if only you'll do this one little thing.
He said, "If you love me, you'll let me." She said, "If you love me, you'll wait."
She was getting tired and it was getting late, in the heat of the moment she compromised.
She'll never forget the hungry look that was in his eyes that night.

I saw a magazine just the other day; inside they were giving condoms away.
They said, "You don't have to be afraid; just use this and you won't get AIDS,"
The one thing that they fail to see is: condoms never come with no guarantee.
And so I wonder what they're gonna say to the boy who uses condoms and catches AIDS anyway.

Love ain't sex, sex ain't love,
What in the world are we thinking of?
It's not something that you do on a dare,
It's meant for a man and his wife to share.
Sex ain't love, love ain't sex,
What in the world we gonna think of next about sex?

Are you ready for this?

I saw a man on MTV. "I want your sex," he screamed at me.
It scared me, but I watched his video...I wish I turned the channel though,
You know what he said?
He said, "You don't need no Bible, just look into my eye,"
But, on judgment day, I think he's in for quite a big surprise,
'Cause if he read the Bible he'd understand: sex is a part of God's master-plan
But everything has got its proper time and place,
It's like this, George...you gotta have faith,
Gotta have faith, faith, faith.

Love ain't sex, sex ain't love,
What in the world are we thinking of?
It isn't a sin, no, it isn't a crime,
It's a gift from God, with a purpose in mind,
Sex ain't love, love ain't sex,
What in the world we gonna tell our children next about sex?

Well, there's sex in the classroom and sex in my home,
Sex in the workplace and sex on the phone,
Seems the whole world's got a one-tracked mind,
Like carts before horses, pearls before swine,
You just can't escape; it's all over the place,
Get your sex out of my face!

Now the reason for this little tune, is to tell you folks I'm not immune,
Deep in my heart, where shadows hide, some deep dark secrets there abide,
Things that I would never tell - Guess I'm susceptible as well,
But, thanks to God, I've been set free 'cause Jesus is the Lord of my sexuality.

Love ain't sex, sex ain't love,
What in the world are we thinking of?
It's easy to get the two things confused, when the one is ignored and the other abused,
Sex ain't love, love ain't sex,
What in the world we gonna think of next about sex?

About sex,
About sex,
I can't even say it.
