The NIV (New International Version)

If your favourite Bible was the KJV (King James Version), and you needed a new Bible, or were looking for a different format of that Bible, how would you feel if, when you purchased your KJV, you found out that it contained the text of the NKJV (New King James Version)?

If your favourite Bible was the RV (Revised Version) or the RSV (Revised Standard Version), and you needed a new Bible, or were looking for a different format of that Bible, how would you feel if, when you purchased your RV or RSV, you found out that it contained the text of the NRSV (New Revised Standard Version)?

You would feel deceived. Pure and simple.

Well, for those of you who have preferred and enjoyed the NIV (New International Version), this is precisely what has been done to you. If you were in need of a new copy of the NIV Bible, or you just wanted a different format of the NIV Bible (larger text; single column; study notes; or whatever), the Bible identified as the "NIV" today is no NIV at all!

The 2011 text of the "NIV" is nothing more than a repackaging of the 1996 NIVi (New International Version Inclusive Language Edition) and the 2002/2005 text of the TNIV (Today's New International Version), which never became popular due to its gender-neuter language and the vast amounts of heresy found in various passages.

The publishers of the NIV have deceived you. They have deliberately tried to slip the text of the NIVi/TNIV in under your nose unnoticed as the "NIV." Any NIV you attempt to purchase today is the 2011 text. Not the 1984 text. You are purchasing a completely different Bible. It is deception!

If you preferred and enjoyed the NIV due to its ease of readability, if you are looking for a new Bible to replace your worn NIV, or if you simply want a different format, might I suggest you pick up a copy of the ESV (English Standard Version)? It has the same ease of readability that the NIV had, but is more accurate in translation than the NIV ever was.
